First preparations for the new season
Time flies, and now that the sun has made its way back on the Roi Baudouin ice shelf, we should start preparing for the new season. We make sure the instruments are available and well tested, further analyse the existing observations and set up the remote sensing and modeling datasets. The second field season (January-February 2016) will focus in detailed measurements of snow albedo (in spectral bands), snow temperature, density (additional firn cores around the iWS), and snow grain size.
In addition, we plan to visit the crater on the Roi Baudouin ice shelf, and do additional measurements. We are working to coordinate all of this with our colleagues from ULB.
